Computer Science & Engineering: Program Objectives
The Computer Science and Engineering program combines a rigorous education in computer science with added emphasis on the physical and architectural underpinnings of modern computer system design. With a background that spans computer science and computer engineering, our graduates are able to address computing systems across the hardware-software spectrum.
The Program Educational Objectives of the Computer Science and Engineering program describe our graduates expected accomplishments during the first few years following graduation from the program. The Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate program educational objectives are that our alumni/ae:
- practice as computing professionals (appropriate to the description of the Computer Science and Engineering program described above), conducting research and/or leading, designing, developing, or maintaining projects in various technical areas;
- apply the ethical and social aspects of modern computing technology to the design, development, and usage of computing artifacts; and,
- enhance their skills and embrace new computing technologies through self-directed professional development and post-graduate training or education.
