Housing
A great variety of student housing is available in the Storrs
area. Many students live in the graduate dormitory complex built in
1971. Students living there have the obvious advantage of being on
campus and about a five-minute walk from all classes. The cost of a
single room is about $1,416 per semester. A seven-day meal plan is
optional and costs $1,260 per semester. Limited cooking facilities are
available.
There is an abundance of off-campus housing available. Rental rates
range from $300 to $600 a month depending on the number of people
sharing the apartment.
In addition, many homes have spare rooms for rent. There are also homes
which are available for rent to larger groups of graduate
students. (Approximately $150 to $250 per person per month). Some of
these homes and apartments are within walking distance of campus. Most
are within a 15 minute drive.
