Student Societies

ACM Chapter

At the University of Connecticut, ACM provides a voice for student concerns about computer-related issues. UCONN-ACM is primarily an organization of students who will (hopefully) be computer science professionals after graduation. Membership, however, is open to anyone with an interest in computer science. UCONN-ACM organizes and promotes group activities, such as visits to computer-related businesses, conferences, museums and so forth. These activities are intended not only to further our knowlege of computer systems, but also to provide an opportunity for our members to get to know each other better.

UCONN-ACM also periodically invites guest speakers to make presentations at UCONN for our collective enrichment. ACM members are encouraged to attend these presentations, as are any interested community members.

For comments and questions, please contact us at uconnacm@engr.uconn.edu or visit us at our website.

Upsilon Pi Epsilon

Upsilon Pi Epsilon is an honorary society whose membership consists of outstanding undergraduates and graduates in computing science who can effectively achieve the original goals of the society. These goals include:

  • The recognition of outstanding talent in the field of computing science.
  • The promotion of high scholarship in computing science.
  • The establishment and maintenance of high standards in computing science.
  • The representation of computing science in interdisciplinary communications.
  • The encouragement of individual contributions to society through computing science.
