SUBMISSIONS

The web site for submitting research papers to ICDE 2004:
  • We are using Microsoft's Conference Management Toolkit (CMT).  Here is the link to the CMT web site: http://msrcmt.research.microsoft.com/ICDE04/
  • Some browsers are known to have problems with CMT (incl. some Apple browsers). For a list of approved browsers, look at the FAQ available on the CMT site.
  • Note: to submit via CMT site, you must have a JavaScript enabled browser that accepts cookies.

Deadlines:

  • Research paper abstracts must be submitted via this web site by 2pm PST on June 25, 2003.
  • Research papers must be submitted by 2pm PST on July 2, 2003; the format is discussed below.

Research paper format:

  • Papers must be submitted in the 8/5" x 11" IEEE camera-ready format, with a 12-page limit.
  • We will only accept PDF format (see below for details).

Preparing the soft-copy of your paper:

  • Click here to view the instructions from IEEE (in PDF) for preparing and formatting the camera-ready version.
  • IEEE maintains an ftp site, ftp://pubftp.computer.org/Press/Outgoing/proceedings that contains a number of useful files including the LaTeX styles, printing instructions etc.

Generating the PDF version of your papers:

  • Authors are advised to preview it online as well as try it on several printers.
  • Any paper that we cannot get to print will be rejected.
  • Sometimes papers that print fine appear too "fuzzy" to read when viewed online.  This is often the result of running "distill" on a PostScript paper generated in UNIX from a LaTEX file.  The problem can be avoided by adding parameters to the "dvips" command, in one of the following ways:
    • dvips -P cmz -t letter -o <file>.ps <file>.dvi
    • dvips -t letter -o <file>.ps <file>.dvi

All accepted papers will appear in the Proceedings published by the IEEE Computer Society.
