Introduction

The joint ICDE/EDBT Ph.D. Workshop is intended to bring together Ph.D. students working on topics related to the ICDE as well as the EDBT conference series. The workshop will have two sessions the first in Heraklion, Greece, on March 18 and the second in Boston, USA, on March 29, 2004.

The workshop will offer Ph.D. students the opportunity to present, discuss, and receive feedback on their research in a constructive and international atmosphere. Students can choose where to present their papers (Heraklion/Boston) when accepted.

The workshop will be accompanied by prominent professors and researchers in the field of database technology. These accompanying professors will participate actively and contribute to the discussions.

The first session is co-located with and will take place on the last day of the EDBT 2004 conference. The second session is co-located with and will take place immediately before the ICDE 2004 conference. The workshop language is English.
