Web programming at UConn Q Center for Spring 17

The Q Center is looking to fund a 1/2 graduate assistant in CSE for the Spring semester that could help us improve and maintain our electronic infrastructure.

A bit about us: the Q Center maintains a database-driven website (qcenter.uconn.edu) and also a database-driven login system, both for our tutors and the tutees that come to the Q Center, in order to organize payroll, and also keep track of visits. Visitors are asked to sign in and complete a brief survey, so that we can keep track of the number of visits, and also receive some feedback of customer satisfaction.

Because of the work involved, we would need someone who has solid PHP and jQuery/Javascript skills, as well as basic knowledge of PHP frameworks, MySQL, Linux/Apache servers, and web security would be a good knowledge baseline.

Please contact Alvaro Lozano-Robledo (alvaro@uconn.edu) if you have any questions, or if you are interested in the job. Please provide:

1) an updated CV (which includes your academic advisor’s name and email address),

2) a name of a faculty member that knows about your programming skills and your work ethic, and who is willing to serve as a reference.

3) a brief description of your skills that make you a good candidate for this position.
