Speaker: Hong-Sheng Zhou Day: Wednesday, 12/8/2004 Room: ITE 336 Time: 3:30pm-4:10pm Title: Short Signatures Without Random Oracles ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this talk, I will present a recent signature scheme that appeared in Eurocrypt 2004. The signature length is as short as DSA (the digital signature starndard). Amazingly, the scheme is proved to be secure in the standard model. The signature length is much shorter than other signatures secure in standard model. This signature scheme is based on Bilinear Pairings, and a new hard problem, q-Strong Diffie-Hellman assumption. In this talk, first I will introduce the proof model for secure signature: UF-CMA model, and then prove the short signature scheme secure in the UF-CMA model.
