The keys for encryption purpose must be agreed upon by the sensor nodes. However, key agreement is not trivial in sensor networks. Many existing key agreement schemes are not suitable for sensor networks. In this paper, the authors propose a key pre-distribution scheme that exploits the deployment knowledge. This scheme increase the connectivity of the networks without sacrificing the security against node capture attack. The performance of this scheme is evaluated theoretivcally and empirically.
