Title: Computation of Knot Invariants

We discuss the computational problem of determining when two knots are the
same---that is, when one can be changed into the other by a smooth
deformation. After mentioning some of the classical results on this
problem, we introduce two knot (and link) invariants, and explain how they
can be efficiently computed.
