I am looking for a motivated and resourceful student (advanced undergraduate or graduate) who is interested in Bioinformatics and/or Computational Genomics to help with analyzing next generation sequencing (NGS) data. In this project we analyze exome sequencing and RNA-seq data from breast cancer tumors to identify candidate biomarkers of drug resistance. This is a part time paid internship for 10-20 hours per week. The position begins immediately.
Run the pipelines on several samples
Summarize and analyze the results
Working knowledge of programing languages such as R, Java or Python
Familiar with Bioinformatics tools
Familiar with NGS data (fastq and BAM files)
Basic knowledge of genomics
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent time-management skills
Strong ability to work in collaborative, team setting
