Applying to our Program

Application deadlines and requirements are set by the University and the School of Engineering. Students must first be accepted to UConn; see the admissions website. For prospective high school students, see the engineering school prospective student guide. Current UConn students may apply to the School of Engineering using an online application. Major Programs

The department offers three distinct undergraduate major programs:

  • The Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate program emphasizes breadth, covering fundamental topics in both computer engineering and computer science.
  • The Computer Science undergraduate program emphasizes depth in computer science, covering fundamental topics in the theory, principles, and practices of computing.
  • The Computer Engineering program emphasizes depth in computer engineering focusing on the design and fabrication of computing devices.
  • The 5-year Integrated Bachelor’s and Master of Science program in CS, CSE, CompE, info here.

Minor Programs

The department also offers two minors in computing: the Computer Science Minor, and the Information Technology Minor.

Accreditation

The Computer Science and Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The Computer Science and Engineering and Computer Science programs are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.

Open House

Open House is held twice during the Fall Semester and once during Spring semester.
